How does the VaxAid Hydropump system work?

When used in water for penile exercise:

    1. It seals on the pelvic seat, not the penis shaft, so the whole length is unrestricted, allowing for full blood flow.
    2. It can be applied in seconds, and can be used in the shower or bathtub as part of the daily hygiene routine so it is very convenient and takes up little time.
    3. In water, VaxAid will attain the maximum negative pressure recommended by the FDA and MHRA when using the bellows pump only. The maximum negative pressure can never be exceeded due to the limiting factor of the elastic recoil strength of the pump. This makes it one of the most powerful systems available and also amongst the safest.
    4. The cycling action of the pump allows the penis to be erected gradually in stages. Between stages, the pressure inside the tube reverts to atmospheric and allows a more natural erection process in a short period of full blood flow in and out of the penis.
    5. A unique flow control valve also allows for gradual release of negative pressure, so the penis can be erected and deflated several times over a short period.
    6. Water has both a cushioning and lubricating effect, so lubricants are not needed.
    7. The Erection Rings can also be used in water with the VaxAid to maintain an erection should the user prefer.
    8. When used in water for penile exercise the water creates a hard vacuum, ensuring the penis erects gradually and uniformly along the full length without the bulging and bending associated with many vacuum devices.

When used in air:

    1. The bellows gaiter pump does not generate as high a negative pressure in air as in water due to the physical properties of air and water. You may need to use the auxiliary hand ball pump to generate the necessary vacuum pressure.
    2. A long insert comfort pad is provided and needs to be lubricated – lube is not required in water which acts as its own lubricant.
    3. The VaxAid erection ring, used when needing to maintain an erection, is applied to the base of the flaccid penis and the hydropump then forms a seal with the ring and erects your penis through the ring. When fully erect, the pump is removed leaving the ring in place at the base of the penis.

The VaxAid erection ring is designed to allow you to ejaculate normally and for easy removal.

What are the benefits of the VaxAid Hydropump?

The VaxAid is designed to generate an erection either using water to regularly exercise the penile vascular system or in air for sexual spontaneity. The dual pumping system gives the user greater flexibility and means of operation.

Frequently Asked Questions

The VaxAid is a unique product designed to both exercise the penile blood system and at the same time help ED sufferers to gain and maintain an erection for penetrative sexual intercourse.

It is the only vacuum device on the market to offer this dual purpose, as user friendly as possible, though it does incorporate features you may at first find a little complicated.

Below you will find a list of frequently asked questions along with the answers. If it does not have an answer you’re looking for, please fill in the form and email us with your questions and we will be delighted to respond.

Using the VaxAid in water

When I place the hydropump under the shower head water runs out of the bottom and it does not fill up. Why?

You will need to push upwards the black pip at the end of the valve cap while filling it with water. This should stop any water from coming out. Slide the flaccid penis into the pump when filled with water and release the black pip by taking your finger away prior to pumping.

I am having difficulty in releasing the pressure.

To release the pressure you must first turn the valve cap anti-clockwise as far as it will go to unlock it. Then press the cap down to release the pressure.

As a backup, you can try forcing a finger under the bellows pump where it meets your body to release the pressure, but this method should only be used in emergencies as constant use this way may damage the comfort pad.

I am starting to see some speckling and bruising, is this normal?

This is often the case when you first start using the VaxAid as blood is being forced into the erectile chambers and blood vessels but they will disappear after a few days. To avoid this:

  • Do not over pump and pump slowly and evenly to allow your erection to grow gradually.
  • Start with one erection to begin with and once full erection is reached release the pressure. Only start doing repeated exercises after several uses so that your blood vessels can become accustomed to it.
  • If the problem persists, stop using the VaxAid for a few days and then start again. However, it is advised to contact your GP for further clarification.

Do I need to use lube when using VaxAid in water?

No. Water acts as a natural lubricant for the penis and therefore it is more recommended to use this method instead of in air.

Can I use a VaxAid erection ring with the VaxAid in water?

Yes, there is no need to use any lubrication as water is self lubing and self sealing, and the erection ring is designed to go onto a flaccid penis while the hydropump erects you through it.

  • Can I use the auxiliary hand ball pump with VaxAid in water?Yes, you can use the hand ball pump with or without the hose connector. The bellows pump alone supplies maximum negative pressure in water.
  • How long do I leave the hydropump on when I am fully erect? The idea is to exercise the penis and this is best done by fully erecting and then releasing the pressure two or three times over a 10-15 minute period.

If you choose to leave the hydropump on when fully erect, do not exceed 20 minutes.

  • What is the purpose of the swivel bellows?

The gauge on the vacuum tube is designed for you to monitor your erection. Some men prefer not to see this when using the Vaxaid, so you can find the best comfort position and then swivel the bellows pump so that the gauge is visible above or out of sight below.

  • If I use the long insert pad in water by mistake, will this do me any harm?

No, but the mechanics of water and air are very different and the short insert works better in water while the long one works better in air.

  • I have some impairment of use in my hands, can I still use the VaxAid?

Provided you have the strength to turn and depress the cap valve to release the pressure then yes. If not you may need help when using it. The VaxAid also has roughened surfaces on the outside to improve the grip when pumping.

  • How often can I use the VaxAid and is it safe?

You can use the VaxAid daily as part of your washing routine, although two or three sessions per week should suffice. As for it being safe, leading urologists say it is not only safe they recommend regular use and over extended periods.

However, please consult with your GP for further advise.

Using the VaxAid in Air

  • Can I use the VaxAid in air to exercise my penis?

Yes, but the bellows pump in air may not generate sufficient vacuum pressure due to the different mechanics of air and water. It is recommended to use the hand ball pump to generate maximum vacuum pressure to overcome this matter.

  • Do I need to use Lube when simply exercising in air?

Yes, you will need to lubricate your penis, the base of the comfort pad and inside the long insert. Always use the long insert when operating in air as this provides a better seal and also allows your penis to slide comfortably up the tube as it engorges.

  • I find the valve system complicated, can you explain it to me?

Of course, as this is a vital part of this unique system and essential for you to get best results.

    • The black pip is only pushed up and held in place to aid filling the hydropump with water either in the bath or shower.
    • Make sure the valve cap is fully turned in the clockwise direction to lock it.
    • Once locked it allows you to use the hand ball pump with the hydropump without depressing the cap, and thereby not releasing the pressure.
    • You can use the hand ball pump directly on the cap if you prefer or with the connecting hose as explained in the manual.

Once you are fully erect, you can remove the hand ball pump and turn the cap anti-clockwise to unlock it, then press in the cap to release the pressure.

  • I am having difficulty maintaining an erection with the Vaxaid erection ring.

There could be several reasons for this:

    • The ring you are using may not be tight enough so try various ring sizes until you find the one that suits you best.
    • Note: After using the VaxAid for several sessions you may find you need a larger ring size. This is normal because as the penis’s blood vessels start to open up and develop, it means your erections are getting harder and stronger as time goes on.
    • Make sure you have the erection ring in the correct orientation.
      • The flat side of the ring must face the skin while the raised side faces the comfort pad as you slide the pump on.
      • Then, make sure the two convolutes in the ring are in the top and bottom position on your penis, as this allows you to be erect through the ring and also maintain the erection.

  • I am maintaining an erection but finding it hard to ejaculate through the ring.

The ring is designed to allow for normal ejaculation; however, if you are having difficulties to ejaculate, please refer to the answer to the question above. Kindly consult your GP if none of the answers is what you are looking for.

  • I am having difficulty removing the ring from my erect penis. What should I do?

You may be using a ring that is too small, so you can try using a size bigger. If this does not work, apply a little more lubricant to the penis and then stretch it apart and it should slide off easily.

  • I find it difficult to get pressure when using it in the air.

Using the VaxAid may be complicated when you first start using it. However, please keep practising and you will soon get the hang of it.

  • Will using VaxAid cure my ED over time?

No, as there are no trials have been conducted yet to prove its curability. However, urologists do agree that regular erection of the penis is beneficial.

  • Will using VaxAid over time help me with premature ejaculation?

The answer is the same as above and for each individual only time will tell.
